*NEW MUSIC* JEALOUS REMIX ( Beyonce feat Chris Brown)

Just when I was craving for some new Beyonce music #BOOM she drops the remix to Jealous featuring Chris Brown. Now usually I'm not a Chris Brown fan because ole dude has been and can be wreck-less but I will admit he does make some great music and I can appreciate that. I will definitely give credit where it is due.

Breezy can be found on the Jealous Remix showing his sensitive and insecure side about how he doesn't want Bey interacting with her ex's

First of all I love how his verse starts off with "QUEEN BEY IM TRIPPING" I heard that and was like "yassssssss you better say that, you better call her queen" I literally had a stan moment.  I was so infatuated with how he said QUEEN BEY I didn't even hear his entire verse and had to listen to it multiple times. Chris states that the song was suppose to be released on Beyonce's recent collaboration album. I'm more than sure he's referring to her Platinum addition to her fifth album that she released November 2014. Give the song a listen and let me know what you think of Beyonce's and Chris Brown's collaboration.

Overall I love the remix and Chris's verse was just what the remix needed. It would have been cool if Beyonce would have threw in a new verse herself, but I'll take it

Serena Williams remakes Beyonce's 7/11 music video

When you think of a song that makes you dance randomly from the 2014 era, how can Beyonce's 7/11 not come to mind. Bey released the song/video mid November and had everyone talking about her twerking, jumping on the bed while blue was asleep, and uttering the words "Fresher Than You Hoe". It was obvious that with this video Bey let all her inhibitions fly away and decided to just do her while not caring what anyone thinks. I definitely applaud her for letting loose and letting us see her free spirited side.

Since the release of 7/11 there have many many remakes of her crazy video to include the most recent remake featuring the Tennis Phenom Serena Williams, who remakes the video while adding a hint of tennis within the lines. I personally love Serena's version and love how she totally revamped Bey's concept and introduced it to the world of tennis. Check out Serena's 7/11 remake video below.

What do you think of Serena's video?  Let me know in the Comment section. I'm headed home from this deployment soon and I think I might officially created my real remake of 7/11. The one I made in my deployment room does not count at all.

Ciara " I Bet " #NewSong

In an industry where it is tough to stay on top,  I would proudly like to say that Ciara Harris is holding her own. After giving birthday 8 months ago the singer who is wildly known for her hits such as "GOODIES" "1 2 STEP" and "BODY PARTY" just to name a few has released a new single and music video and she’s giving it to us RAW AND UNCUT at one point in the song she sings

“is that your b*tch over there
giving me the ugly stare
the one with the silicon ass
and the Brazilian hair.

Y'all after she said that stanza I was like danggggggg CiCi calling folks out.

Now I don’t know about y’all but I think CiCi is referring to her ex fiancĂ© FUTURE and I see nothing wrong with her singing about the breakup because honestly that’s where some the best music come from. Ask Adele and Sam Smith and their GRAMMY count will confirm so.

I’m loving this new video and Ciara is looking fit as ever in her white leotard tearing it up. This song definitely hits close to home for me, I've been in a situation similar to this, but we all have to move along at sometime and why not sing about it

Check out the music video below and let me know what you think in the comment section.

BLACK LIVES MATTER

Dear America,

We have a problem and that problem is that within the borders of our great nation BLACK LIVES seem to not matter. Personally when I'm home in my own country I feel like a 2nd class citizen, I feel that on many occasions I might as well be three fifths of a person. I mean hell that's what my ancestors life was thought to be worth.

Many people fail to realize that all human beings are alike whether our skin complexion differ or not if you look deep inside of all of us you will see that our both of our blood indeed runs red.

I am deployed overseas to the Middle East on a U.S Army mission and I get to watch my people back home get treated like crap. I watch CNN faithfully everyday in November and December and to hear that Darren Wilson and the Officer who chocked out Eric Garner not be indicted was sickening.

Yesterday I read and heard about the veteran who was unarmed and naked and was killed by a police officer near Atlanta Georgia. What kind of message does this send to the America people. Are police officers not able to handle intense situation without resulting to pulling out their guns, pulling a trigger and taking a life. I personally think all the police officers in America need to be retrained and know when it is necessary to use deadly voice. Obvious if you do not see a weapon than why do you feel the need to have yours out. I feel like officers just get to trigger happy and don't think about the life at the end of that barrel.

Just a reminder of how important all life is, take a listen to Kirk Franklin's song THE BLOOD SONG and remember that it doesn't matter what color you are as long as your blood runs red, then you and your life are important,

2015 *Never To Late*

It's 2015 and I've finally hit the blogging scene.

Happy Women's History Month

Let me first start off with an apology. I'm sorry I have not been very reliable these past few months and I promise to get back to my old regular self. My last post was mid December and since then I have yet to make a blog post. I'm active on social media and sometimes I think that should account for my blogging, but I know that is no excuse. So from here on out I'm back and I'll never dip out on you guys ever again.

Uniform pics (leaving for deployment and receiving care packages from home)

First things first let me give you all an update on my current situation. It is almost mid March and  I have been deployed to Bahrain for 5 months. The experience of being away from my friends and family is very surreal. I hate and love it all at the same time. I do get a lot of free time over here but I miss my daily freedom I am accustomed to in the states. Over here I have a small room, no vehicle, and my weekends are not my own. On a normal week I work Monday through Saturdays with Sundays off, but there's the occasional week where I have to go in on a Sunday but I don't mind. Bahrain is a pretty chill Middle Eastern country. The stress level of a deployment that a soldier usually experience is non existent simply based off of my location. I am thankful that God chose to send me here instead of Iraq of Afghanistan. So now friends and family you can rest easy about my well being. I'm not completely safe but the likelihood or something bad happening to me over here is not very high.

There's really not much to do over here ( so why not win as many races as possible )

I would like to thank everyone who has sent me letters and care packages while deployed. Your love and admiration is highly appreciated. On deployments mail tends to become the highlight of the day since we are not at home and able to just go to the store to get the usual items that we would need. Thank you to my extended family *THE TRUETTS* Jessi I truly appreciate you sending me any and everything that I need I don't think I could thank you enough, thank you to my friends who are like sisters ( Janae, Skyy, Alisa, Ashley M.) I appreciate your friendship more than you will ever know,  thank you to so my sorority KAPPA EPISLON PSI  and there *MY SISTER'S KEEPER PROGRAM* thank you to other sorors who have sent me items, and thank you to my line sisters * my THETA BOOS* KEY will forever be in my heart, thanks to the random West Point parent Brenda M., thank you to my wonderful male friends ( Rocky and Sigmund), and thank you to the organization who have sent me items when you do not even know me. The love that an American Soldier receives while deployed is unyielding and I am forever thankful.
Now let me give you an update on where I stand in this present day.
2015 will be great year for me indeed. I'm competing in the MS VETERAN AMERICAN 2015 competition (pageant)  and THE MISS ALABAMA USA 2015 pageant as well. I have never participated in a pageant before so this entire experience will be interesting. I will discuss more details about the pageants in later posts dedicated solely to the pageant. So far the support I have received has been amazing and it's so inspiring to see so many people on #TeamLela I will be sure to make you proud.

And of course I would still find a way to be Fiercely Real

I started graduated school at the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS at EL PASO (UTEP) mid February and I have completed my first class. I am working on getting a Masters of Art in Leadership Studies. TThe program is very military friendly and my goal is to complete a Masters Program before my initial 5 years in the Army is done. I completed the first class yesterday ( 8 March 2016) and I hope to finish the degree a year from now. 1 class down 9 more to go.

Glasses FLOW

The last thing I would like to touch on is the female mentorship program that I recently started while on this deployment. There have been many times where I have thought to myself " what is my purpose here on earth, what is it that God wants me to do" Over the years I've discovered that I am passionate about uplifting other females. Upon arriving to the base I am deployed at I discovered that members from the other branches of the United States Military were stationed here as well ( sailors, airmen, and marines), but upon discovering this I also noticed that each branch's personnel tend to keep to themselves and not interact with the other branches. Myself along with a Navy non commissioned officer decided that we were going to start up a female mentorship program .We pondered upon what we would call it and then my favorite word popped in my head "FIERCE" from there I said it would be called FIERCE and that we had to come up with an acronym for the program. I came up with " FEMALES INSPIRING EMPOWERING and REINFORCING CONTINUOUS EXCELLENCE" and the creation was born. My co founder hails from New Orleans and has been in the U.S Navy for 17 years I met her after I put up flyers seeking out females who wanted to be on the Praise Dance Team and she was the only person I had come out. Since then we've been close ever since. We decided that upon returning to the states we would have a logo created and get the acronym we came up for FIERCE patented. We would then start of the program in our respective locations and grow the organization. Eventually we are going to transform it into a non profit with the aim to positively influence as many female lives as possible.

Repping what I love and what I am inspired by

Well there you have it, that's what I've been up to these past weeks. I appreciate you all for sticking with me and I send nothing but blessings your way. I'll talk to yall later I'm off to look at pageant gowns and pageant jewelry (oops I mean Army documents and powerpoints) lol. I hope you all have a prosperous 2015

Sorority Sisters * The Divine Nine* comes to VH1

Earlier this year the Black Greek World was shook when it was announced that a reality tv show based around the sororities of the Divine Nine would be released and shown on VH1. The creator of the show was "Mona Scott Young" the creator of VH1s "Love and Hip Hop" tv series and many people decided to call her out for exploiting black women. I personally say if you call it exploitation then guess who allowed it to be done. The women on the show. I personally don't think its exploitation, but call it what you want.

VH1 might be a step ahead of the rest of other networks when it comes to reality tv in the black community. Their newest reality show is set to premier Dec 15, 2014 with the title "Sorority Sisters"
Although many people dont agree with this show, Im more than sure they're going to watch it. While watching lets keep in mind that even though it says reality tv there's no way to know what is real and what is staged.

Upon hearing about the premiere of the show many Divine 9 greeks expressed negative opinions about the show. I'm greek but I'm not Divine 9 greek so maybe I honestly would never understand why people are upset. But there are people all over the reality tv realm and we know they are greek, and they have and are acting a fool yet no one sees anything wrong with them being on their perspective shows.

These ladies are the not the first members of a BGLOs to be featured on a reality tv show and will not be the last. I feel like people are making a big deal out the entire ordeal.

Let's be honest, you might not agree with the show * But I bet you'll be watching it* (side eye, yes I threw a little bit of shade)

The show follows the lives of 9 women who reside in BLACK HOLLYWOOD aka Atlanta, Georgia. The women come from all different back grounds and are members of the 4 Black Sororities in the Divine 9. For those of you not tracking the sororities are

Alpha Kappa Alpha
Delta Sigma Theta
Zeta Phi Beta
Sigma Gamma Rho

MEET THE CAST

The following bios were pulled straight from the VH1 website. Whoever did the bios seriously slacked off. I don't understand how they can be content with putting only a sentence up for one of the cast members. Surely there's something else about her that you can tell the people.

 ADRENE ASHFORD

Adrene, owner of trendy boutique House of Adrene, is the go to wardrobe stylist for various celebrities and local socialites. Her career naturally comes with its own share of drama, but Adrene has no problem handling conflicts head on. Being 3,000 miles away from her family in L.A., and after a recent breakup with her ex boyfriend, Adrene often feels the world is against her and oftentimes doesn't allow people to get to know "the real Adrene."

APRIL

April splits her time providing speech therapy to private clients, while working on her dissertation and running her Buckhead clothing store, House of Couture Boutique. Now she's taking it one step further by launching an online store. April's passion is fashion and she won't let anyone stand in the way of her dreams!

CATHERINE HARPER

Cat is a symbol of every young 20-something trying to find her footing post-college in the real world. After attempting to be a model, and spending years as a lowly assistant to A-list Atlanta photographer Derek Blanks, Cat has finally taken the initiative to pursue a career as a solo professional photographer.

JOY

Joy is a teacher by day to pay the bills, but her heart is in acting.

LYDIA

After college, Lydia experienced some high profile success as a professional dancer for Robin Thicke at the VMA's. However, being a single mother to a 4 year old, Lydia has struggled to make ends meet! To get back on her feet, Lydia has left her daughter with her mother/grandmother in Alabama. As time and money dries up in Atlanta, Lydia gives up on her college dreams of dancing, and goes after her plan B of a career in public relations, to get her daughter to move to ATL. At 5'3", Lydia is big on achieving her goals.

METOYA

MeToya works for a clinical research organization and is very committed to her sorority. She felt a strong desire to pledge because she yearned to have the relationships and sisters she didn't have growing up as an only child. As a single mother, MeToya has honed her skills as a hustler, always juggling odd jobs to pay the bills. In this next chapter of her life, MeToya wants to make stronger relationships with new sorors, weed out bad people in her life and finally get the closure she needs with her child's father...who she admittedly still has feelings for.

PRIYANKA BANKS

Priyanka, a former Miss ASU is a multi-faceted individual - dances burlesque at night for fun, and pounds the pavement during the day in hopes of starting a big foot shoe line! Priyanka is very comfortable in her own skin. Priyanka will defend her lifestyle, family, beliefs and sorors against any haters. Priyanka is currently looking for a man.

SHANNA

Shanna grew up in Arkansas as an obese kid. Like the movie, “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead,” Shanna fell in love with juicing in recent years and lost 70 pounds. Shanna is very sensitive about being white in an African-American sorority.

VERONICA

Veronica is as a choreographer, dancer, and makeup artist, and was previously a cheerleader for the Hawks, but after an injury sidelined her, she was forced out. Veronica has a fiancé who she's in a long-distance relationship with - Veronica is in ATL, while he's in Austin, TX. The couple is trying to figure out how to actually live together and finalize their wedding. Veronica is torn between living her dreams as a professional dancer or moving forward with the man she loves.

From the looks of things I think my favorite might just be Catherine Harper, I've been following her photography in Atlanta for a while so I already knew who she was before I knew she was on the show. Overall she seems to be a very well rounded motivating woman.

Say Hello to MADEA THE CARTOON

Tyler Perry does it again and this time he's coming for the kids. I have heard people talk bad about Tyler Perry on numerous occasion but one thing you can agree on is his hustler mentality. Tyler Perry does not quit and will continue to work his franchise no matter what. I'm happy to see him bring Madea to the animated scene, maybe he do a spin off and turn this into a cartoon series. Be sure to check out Madea's Tough Love January 2015 and check out the trailer below.

Tyler keep up the great work, and please know there are some of us out here who definitely love and support what you do.

MISANDRIST by SkyyT * Book Review*

Okay Let me let warn you now, if you have not read an URBAN book, you might not be able to handle MISANDRIST because it simple goes there.

First off Skyy taught me a new word. I had no idea what a MISANDRIST was. Being that MISANDRIST was a short story there isn't time to play around and beat around the bush. The story started in the middleof an intense scene and from the beginning drew me in and had my like DAMN. The story continues to keep its upbeat tempo and as it progress the author has me on the edge of my seat anticipating whats next to come.

Being that it is a short story the author has to aim to keep the readers attention. SkyyT did an excellent job at capturing the reader from the beginning and giving them the suspense desired to carry them to the end. She provides the reader with a captivating intro and provides the drama that is necessary for a short read. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who loves a good Urban Fiction read.

The short story was originally available on AMAZON for $1.00 but is currently free for a short limited time. Check out the short story and please leave a review on the amazon website for the author and let her know what you think.

Congratulations on the publication of your first short story Skyy.

*NEW SONG* Nicki Minaj feat Beyonce (FEELING MYSELF)

Nicki is back on the scene and is set to release her new album THE PINK PRINT on December 15, 2014. I checked out the songs on the album and saw that she had a song featuring Queen Bey and I instantly got excited.

But what else is new since I always get excited when new music with Beyonce is released even if she's only a featured artist on the track.

Check out her newest feature she did with rap phenom Nicki Minaj and yes she's still in her YONCE mode. Let me know what you think about the song ( The Good Bad and the UGLY). You all should know that I'm jamming out to it as I type this blog.

The line in the sign that stands out to me the most is when Nicki says that her YOU KNOW WHAT IS ON FLEEK * covers my mouth* I forgot that Nicki is a rap artist and can be a bit vulgar at times. Either way I'm still loving it

BEYONCE kills it when she sings
