GROWN WOMAN " BEYONCE"

Finally the wait is over, and BEYONCE has decided to give us new music. We were teased in early April when her new Pepsi commercial was released, which featured a one minute snippet of the song GROWN WOMAN. This commercial left the Beyhive buzzing and wanting more, but for more than a month Beyonce did not release anything and decided to let her fans sweat it out. Last week KELLY ROWLAND released her new single Dirty Laundry, so it was assumed GROWN WOMAN release date would be pushed back for another month or so, but instead the full version of GROWN WOMAN was released monday night (May 20, 2013).

The track was co-written by THE DREAM and produced by Timbaland. In this song Beyonce proclaims that she's a GROWN WOMAN and can do whatever she wants. This can be interpreted in ways. The media loves to put a limit on Beyonce and criticize things that she do, and her response is simple. SHE CAN DO WHATEVER SHE WANTS, she is a grown woman and not a child, therefore she does not need the approval of society when it comes to any decision she makes.

This song will be inspiring to many women, simply because throughout life women are faced with many challenges. On a daily basis we have to deal with double standards. Men can do things and get away with it, but as soon as a woman does it, she is instantly judged for the action. GROWN WOMAN lets the world know that we as women will do WHATEVER WE WANT, whether we have your approval or not.

The song has a very tribal feeling, and will definitely be performed to by many choreographers. I am listening to the song as I type this blog, and I can't stop moving my hips, so I can definitely see some hot choreo to this song in the future. GROWN WOMAN, will be added to the list of Beyonce's empowering songs for females such as SINGLE LADIES, AND GIRLS (RUN THE WORLD) .

My favorite part of the song is when she sings

"You really wanna know how I got it like that
Cause I got a cute face and my booty so fat
Go girl!
She got that bomb, that bomb
That girl!
Can get whatever she wants
Go girl!
She got that tight, that tight
Them boys!
They do whatever she like"

I love how Beyonce is so BOLD to sing about anything to include saying she got that BOMB BOMB.

Check out the lyrics to the song below.
Also don't forget to comment and let me know what you think of GROWN WOMAN and share this with your friends.

[Verse 1]
I remember being young and so brave
I knew what I needed
I was spending all my nights and days
Laid back, daydreaming
Look at me, I'm a big girl now
Said I'm gonna do something
Told the world imma paint this town
Now bitches, I run this (Aah!)

[Pre-chorus]
Cause I put it
Down like that (2x)
And I'm making
All these racks (2x)
And I'm moving
Round like that (2x)
When I do it
I don't look back (2x)

[Chorus 1]
I'm a grown woman
I can do whatever I want
I'm a grown woman
I can do whatever I want
I could be bad if I want
I could do wrong if I want
I can live fast if I want
I can go slow all night long
I'm a grown woman
I can do whatever I want

[Verse 2]
They love  the way I walk
Because I walk with a vengeance
And they listen to me when I talk
Cause I ain't pretending
It took awhile now I understand
Just where I'm going
I know the world, and I know who I am
It's about time I show it

[Pre-chorus]

[Chorus 2]
I'm a grown woman
I can do whatever I want
I'm a grown woman
I can do whatever I want
I could be bad if I want
I can say what I want
I can live fast if I want
I can go slow all night long
I'm a grow woman
I can do whatever I want
(whatever it is )

[Bridge]
I'm a grown woman
So I know how to ride it
I'm a grown woman
And I'm so erotic
I'm a grown woman
Look down, got you so excited
I'm a grown woman
Look at my body
It ain't no fun, if a girl can't have none
You really wanna know how I got it like that
Cause I got a cute face and my booty so fat
Go girl!
She got that bomb, that bomb
That girl!
Can get whatever she wants
Go girl!
She got that tight, that tight
Them boys!
They do whatever she like

[Instrumental/chanting]

[Outro - 11x]
I'm a grown woman
I can do whatever I want

I'm a grown woman

Dirty Laundry "Kelly Rowland"

We are all faced with different challenges in every area of our life. No one is exempt from the UPS AND DOWNS that life throws our way not even celebrities such as " KELENDRIA ROWLAND ", known to us as Miss Kelly Rowland.

On May 15, 2013 Kelly released her newest single called "Dirty Laundry" from her upcoming album "Talk A Good Game " It was not the usual sexually related song that we have come accustomed to expect from Ms. Rowland, but instead this song had a story, a very painful one. This song ROCKED the music industry, and the lyrics brought me to tears. I literally cried when I realized what exactly she endured. I am a huge fan of Kelly and to know that she went through something like this is quite mind boggling, but then again we should not be surprised. Women are strong and go through some of the toughest things that life can throw our way. Sometimes behind a pretty smile there lies a really hurt broken girl, who eventually picks herself back up and moves on.

In the song Kelly reveals some personal information to us and really washes her hands clean of all the DIRTY LAUNDRY that she has been keeping to herself all these years.  From the lyrics she sings she gives us many clues as to when she endured the abuse and who it possibly was. She sings

When you’re soaked in tears for years, it never airs out
When you make pain look this good it never wears out"

Kelly made pain look absolutely fabulous, no one can say that they really saw this coming. She hid the pain very well.

"While my sister was on stage, killing it like a motherf-cker
I was enraged, feeling it like a motherf-cker"

"Went out separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it
Bittersweet, she was up, I was down
No lie, I feel good for her, but what do I do now?"

If you know Kelly then you know that the sister she is referring to would be none other than the one and only Beyonce Knowles. They really are basically sisters, since Beyonce's parents ( Tina and Matthew Knowles) became Kelly's legal guardians when she was 11.

"And it’s almost been a decade
I’m behind them black shades"

Initially everyone thought that Kelly's abuser was her ex fiancĂ© Roy Williams. Roy took to twitter to clear his name and wrote the following post and retweet which also hints who Kelly's abuser was.

The following tweets states

"see I thought CUDA not you" , the writer @StilettoJill states that she thought the abuser was Cudda Love and not Roy Williams. Roy responds with BINGO thats not my place to speak, which hints to us who the abuser was.

When Kelly mentions that its been almost a decade, I am instantly able to determine the time period this all happens. She released Dirty Laundry May 15, 2013, more than likely this song was recorded in 2012. A decade ago was 2002, at that time in Kelly's career she released Dilemma which feature rapper Nelly. Around this time period Kelly was hanging around Nelly and his crew a lot and got involved with Nelly's manager/bodyguard Cudda Love.

“Don’t nobody love you but me
Not your mama, not your daddy and especially not Bey”
He turned me against my sister
I missed ya"

This dude CUDDA was a COLD COLD COLD person, to have said such things to Kelly. He really must have had a hold over her if he could have turned her against Bey. But thankfully she bounced back from that and got out of that crazy situation. Unfortunately Cudda Love is said to be deceased and no longer with us, so he can't even speak on what exactly happened. I am happy Kelly was brave enough to take that step, and sing about her painful past.

Also my friend Briana pointed out that the songs by Destiny's Child, GIRL and BAD HABIT are possibly based around Kelly. Bad habits chorus states

I told myself that I would make some changes
But the more I change there's one thing that remains the same
I can't seem to shake ya
You seem to really have a hold on me
And everytime that we break up
We turn around and make up
This can't go on now
I gotta move on now
It's not the fact that I don't love you no more
But I gotta break this bad habit
Can't take his bad habit no more

While girl states the following

See What You All Don't Know About Him
Is I Can't Let Him Go Because He Needs Me
It Ain't Really Him It's Stress From His Job
And I Ain't Making It Easy
I Know You See Him Bugging On Me Sometimes
But I Know Deep Inside He Don't Mean It
It Gets Hard Sometimes
But I Need My Man
I Don't Think You all Understand
I'm Telling You

I can not believe we had the evidence and the clues all these years and we are just now putting the pieces together, Im happy that Kelly eventually realized her self worth and moved on. WE LOVE YOU KELLY

Check out the song below.

Dirty Laundry lyrics by Kelly Rowland.
[Chorus]
Let’s do this dirty laundry, this dirty laundry
Let’s do this dirty laundry, this dirty laundry
When you’re soaked in tears for years, it never airs out
When you make pain look this good it never wears out
This dirty laundry, this dirty laundry

[Verse 1]
While my sister was on stage, killing it like a motherf-cker
I was enraged, feeling it like a motherf-cker
Bird in a cage, you would never know what I was dealing with
Went out separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it
Bittersweet, she was up, I was down
No lie, I feel good for her, but what do I do now?
Forget the records
Off the record, I was going through some bullshit
Post-survivor, she on fire, who wanna hear my bullshit?
Meanwhile, this nigga putting his hands on me
I swear y’all don’t know the half of this industry

[Chorus]

[Verse 2]
And it’s almost been a decade
I’m behind them black shades
Roll up like it’s all good, right up out that escalade
Fix my make-up, “get it together, Kelly, get it together”
Then we make up, “well get it together, nigga, get it together”
Kinda lucky, I was in her shadow
Phone call from my sister, “what’s the matter?”
She said, “Oh no, baby - you gotta leave!”
I’m on the kitchen floor - he took the keys
I was mad at everybody, I mean everybody
Yeah, her, her, her her everybody
Five years later, I got my shit down pat
Think I had it good, and they don’t know how bad
Fooled everybody, except myself
Soaking in this hurt, bathing in the dirt

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
So here I am in the spin cycle
We’re comin and we’re goin
Nobody can know this
And I was trapped in his house, lyin’ to my mama
Thought it could get no worse as we maximize the drama
Started to call them people on him
I was battered
He hittin the window like it was me, until it shattered
He pulled me out, he said, “Don’t nobody love you but me
Not your mama, not your daddy and especially not Bey”
He turned me against my sister
I missed ya

[Chorus]

Lauryn Hill is back

She's BACK,

Okay everyone remain calm, stay seated, no need to hit any backwards flips or anything, but I come bearing amazing news. Our soul sistah Lauryn Hill has released a new track through itunes on 4 May 2013. No one was expecting her to release new music this fast, especially on a random saturday. This is her first solo track since 2010's Repercussions. Miss Lauryn Hill is not playing any games about her new music, she's ready to make this money and make her comeback.

We all have heard that Lauryn has had some issues with not paying taxes, and faces tax fraud charges. Therefore she's decided to make money the best way she knows how, and has made her to return to the music industry. Lauryn has a strong fan base, so wondering whether or not people will buy the single should not be a worry. The new track features Lauryn rapping to a futuristic beat about today's society and she's holding nothing back.

Hill released a statement today saying

"Here is a link to a piece that I was ‘required’ to release immediately, by virtue of the impending legal deadline," Hill wrote on her tumblrhttp://mslaurynhill.tumblr.com in regards to the new song. "I love being able to reach people directly, but in an ideal scenario, I would not have to rush the release of new music… but the message is still there. In light of Wednesday’s tragic loss (of former label mate Chris Kelly), I am even more pressed to YELL this to a multitude that may not understand the cost of allowing today’s unhealthy paradigms to remain unchecked!"

Check out her new single below Neurotic Society
