Dirty Laundry "Kelly Rowland"

We are all faced with different challenges in every area of our life. No one is exempt from the UPS AND DOWNS that life throws our way not even celebrities such as " KELENDRIA ROWLAND ", known to us as Miss Kelly Rowland.

On May 15, 2013 Kelly released her newest single called "Dirty Laundry" from her upcoming album "Talk A Good Game " It was not the usual sexually related song that we have come accustomed to expect from Ms. Rowland, but instead this song had a story, a very painful one. This song ROCKED the music industry, and the lyrics brought me to tears. I literally cried when I realized what exactly she endured. I am a huge fan of Kelly and to know that she went through something like this is quite mind boggling, but then again we should not be surprised. Women are strong and go through some of the toughest things that life can throw our way. Sometimes behind a pretty smile there lies a really hurt broken girl, who eventually picks herself back up and moves on.

In the song Kelly reveals some personal information to us and really washes her hands clean of all the DIRTY LAUNDRY that she has been keeping to herself all these years.  From the lyrics she sings she gives us many clues as to when she endured the abuse and who it possibly was. She sings

When you’re soaked in tears for years, it never airs out
When you make pain look this good it never wears out"

Kelly made pain look absolutely fabulous, no one can say that they really saw this coming. She hid the pain very well.

"While my sister was on stage, killing it like a motherf-cker
I was enraged, feeling it like a motherf-cker"

"Went out separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it
Bittersweet, she was up, I was down
No lie, I feel good for her, but what do I do now?"

If you know Kelly then you know that the sister she is referring to would be none other than the one and only Beyonce Knowles. They really are basically sisters, since Beyonce's parents ( Tina and Matthew Knowles) became Kelly's legal guardians when she was 11.

"And it’s almost been a decade
I’m behind them black shades"

Initially everyone thought that Kelly's abuser was her ex fiancé Roy Williams. Roy took to twitter to clear his name and wrote the following post and retweet which also hints who Kelly's abuser was.

The following tweets states

"see I thought CUDA not you" , the writer @StilettoJill states that she thought the abuser was Cudda Love and not Roy Williams. Roy responds with BINGO thats not my place to speak, which hints to us who the abuser was.

When Kelly mentions that its been almost a decade, I am instantly able to determine the time period this all happens. She released Dirty Laundry May 15, 2013, more than likely this song was recorded in 2012. A decade ago was 2002, at that time in Kelly's career she released Dilemma which feature rapper Nelly. Around this time period Kelly was hanging around Nelly and his crew a lot and got involved with Nelly's manager/bodyguard Cudda Love.

“Don’t nobody love you but me
Not your mama, not your daddy and especially not Bey”
He turned me against my sister
I missed ya"

This dude CUDDA was a COLD COLD COLD person, to have said such things to Kelly. He really must have had a hold over her if he could have turned her against Bey. But thankfully she bounced back from that and got out of that crazy situation. Unfortunately Cudda Love is said to be deceased and no longer with us, so he can't even speak on what exactly happened. I am happy Kelly was brave enough to take that step, and sing about her painful past.

Also my friend Briana pointed out that the songs by Destiny's Child, GIRL and BAD HABIT are possibly based around Kelly. Bad habits chorus states

I told myself that I would make some changes
But the more I change there's one thing that remains the same
I can't seem to shake ya
You seem to really have a hold on me
And everytime that we break up
We turn around and make up
This can't go on now
I gotta move on now
It's not the fact that I don't love you no more
But I gotta break this bad habit
Can't take his bad habit no more

While girl states the following

See What You All Don't Know About Him
Is I Can't Let Him Go Because He Needs Me
It Ain't Really Him It's Stress From His Job
And I Ain't Making It Easy
I Know You See Him Bugging On Me Sometimes
But I Know Deep Inside He Don't Mean It
It Gets Hard Sometimes
But I Need My Man
I Don't Think You all Understand
I'm Telling You

I can not believe we had the evidence and the clues all these years and we are just now putting the pieces together, Im happy that Kelly eventually realized her self worth and moved on. WE LOVE YOU KELLY

Check out the song below.

Dirty Laundry lyrics by Kelly Rowland.
[Chorus]
Let’s do this dirty laundry, this dirty laundry
Let’s do this dirty laundry, this dirty laundry
When you’re soaked in tears for years, it never airs out
When you make pain look this good it never wears out
This dirty laundry, this dirty laundry

[Verse 1]
While my sister was on stage, killing it like a motherf-cker
I was enraged, feeling it like a motherf-cker
Bird in a cage, you would never know what I was dealing with
Went out separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it
Bittersweet, she was up, I was down
No lie, I feel good for her, but what do I do now?
Forget the records
Off the record, I was going through some bullshit
Post-survivor, she on fire, who wanna hear my bullshit?
Meanwhile, this nigga putting his hands on me
I swear y’all don’t know the half of this industry

[Chorus]

[Verse 2]
And it’s almost been a decade
I’m behind them black shades
Roll up like it’s all good, right up out that escalade
Fix my make-up, “get it together, Kelly, get it together”
Then we make up, “well get it together, nigga, get it together”
Kinda lucky, I was in her shadow
Phone call from my sister, “what’s the matter?”
She said, “Oh no, baby - you gotta leave!”
I’m on the kitchen floor - he took the keys
I was mad at everybody, I mean everybody
Yeah, her, her, her her everybody
Five years later, I got my shit down pat
Think I had it good, and they don’t know how bad
Fooled everybody, except myself
Soaking in this hurt, bathing in the dirt

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
So here I am in the spin cycle
We’re comin and we’re goin
Nobody can know this
And I was trapped in his house, lyin’ to my mama
Thought it could get no worse as we maximize the drama
Started to call them people on him
I was battered
He hittin the window like it was me, until it shattered
He pulled me out, he said, “Don’t nobody love you but me
Not your mama, not your daddy and especially not Bey”
He turned me against my sister
I missed ya

[Chorus]

Fierce and Love
Lela Victoria
