Beyonce Visual Album "LEMONADE"

Beyonce does it again, she has given us another visual album and I live. She premiered it on 23 April via HBO. After the premiere she released the album via Tidal. That move was predictable and I respect and understand why she released it via Tidal. Beyonce is passed the phase where she's selling albums she's focused on making great music that transcends multiple generations.

 The album is entitled Lemonade and it's simply about when life gives you Lemons make some mother freaking #LEMONADE and persevere through your problems

The album features 12 songs

The visual album focused on 10 different areas 

Intuition

Denial

Anger

Apathy

Emptiness

Accountability

Forgiveness

Reconciliation

Hope

Redemption.

They are all emotions and acts that the average person has endured.

There are times when a woman's INTUITION lets her know that something isn't right. She then doesn't know if she should believe there intuition and then turns to DENIAL. Once the truth is revealed she goes through ANGER and that anger leaves her to EMPTINESS. She then informs him that he needs to take ACCOUNTABILITY of his actions in order for her to be able to bring about FORGIVENESS of his actions. The woman and man then move on to RECONCILIATION and finally REDEPTION

The visuals have so much emotion involved that it moves the viewer in a magical way. I have 5 words

WHEN WILL YOUR FAVORITE EVER?

This is why I STAN for Beyonce, she's always giving us something that is unpredictable. She has grown and continues to grow so much as an artist that it literally blows my mind how amazing this woman is.

In the music video Beyonce features the mothers of unarmed Black men who were killed at the hand of police officers ( and wanna be cops) Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown. Seeing these mother's holding portraits of their slain sons literally brought me to tears simply because the Black Lives Matter moment is something that I stand firmly behind.

If you don't have TIDAL you better get it now and make sure you purchase the hard copy version of LEMONADE as well.

The new face of the $20 dollar bill ( HARRIET TUBMAN)

In a country where myself as a Black Woman (person) can sometimes be seen as a second class citizen, I definitely was SHOCKED to find out that the legendary "Harriet Tubman" will become the face of the American $20.00 bill. I was literally at work walking down the hall to retrieve something off the printer and saw the announcement and literally jumped from joy. I was literally overcome with emotion. Because Harriet Tubman was a woman who looks like me. Black, with dark skin, and African features and now her face will be shown to millions. She additionally was a spy for the Union during the civil war and was a leader during the early days of the Women Suffrage Movement

Growing up as a young girl, Harriet Tubman aka Moses was someone who I admired and looked up to. She was born and raised as a slave and eventually escaped the bondage of slavery to only return on numerous occasionally to eventually assist over 300 slaves with obtaining their freedom.

Harriet Tubman will replace former President Andrew Jackson on the front of the $20 dollar bill, while Andrew Jackson will be moved to the back.  Alexander Hamilton will remain on the front of the $10, but leaders of the women’s suffrage movement will be on the back.

 

This is a tremendous move in support of Women and the role that they play in society and have played throughout the history of the United States.

Lew’s decision comes after he announced last summer that he was considering replacing Hamilton on the $10 bill with a woman. The announcement drew swift rebukes from fans of Hamilton, who helped create the Treasury Department and the modern American financial system. Critics immediately suggested Hamilton take Jackson off the $20 bill given the former president’s role in moving native Americans off their land. Jackson may remain on the $20 bill in some capacity.

Lew told POLITICO last July that Treasury was exploring ways to respond to critics. “There are a number of options of how we can resolve this,” Lew said. “We’re not taking Alexander Hamilton off our currency.”

The new $10 bills are set to enter circulation in 2020, while we won’t see the $20 until 2030. It's unfortunately I will be a mother and 40 years of age before I see Harriet Tubman on the $20 dollar bill, but that's fine. I will take what I can get at this point

Rihanna "Needed Me" music video

I will keep it real and be honest. Originally I was not feeling Rihanna's ANTI album. I skimmed throughout it and thought it was alright, but after attending the Rihanna ANTI concert in Brooklyn I had a change of heart. Many of the initial songs that Rihanna performed I was not familiar with and I realized they were the songs off the ANTI album. Of course this would be the case since the tour was called ANTI. After the concert I decided to re listened to some of the songs on the ANTI album and discovered there were some pretty good songs that I was feeling such as "Sex With Me" "Kiss It Better" and "Needed Me". As you can see, I have a thing for the sexual songs. Pass all the judgment you want.

Okay so here's my 5cents on the music video. I LOVE IT, because Rihanna is in her own lane and she's doing something other female artists aren't doing and that's keeping it ALL THE WAY REAL. In this music video there is a scene Rihanna moves in slow motion with an intense stare while rocking a bob cut and wearing an African necklace. This look is a dead giveaway that she's overcome with emotion and is seriously plotting something big. Throughout the music video she walks through a strip club holding a gun and you're saying to yourself, what is the purpose of this, but then you remember that it's Rihanna who is a 28 year old black woman from Saint Michaels Parrish, Barbados who literally DOES WHAT SHE WANTS and I'm so here for it. In the end she ends up shooting some man (I'm assuming the person she says NEEDED HER " and the video ends.


Basically in Needed Me Rihanna sings about a man who wants more than SEX. Rihanna is not here for it and basically sings about how she's a heart breaker and a SAVAGE.

BEYONCE "What is LEMONADE"

THIS IS NOT A DRILL, BeyHive, and all you other folks who secretly adore BEYONCE get in formation and get in formation NOW. Beyonce gave us a 7 day ( one week notice) that she is coming for your sanity and your favorite's fav.


BEYONCE, is about to GIVE IT TO US ALL. She just changed her cover picture on Facebook to a black and white picture of LEMONADE and posted a video where she repeatedly says WHAT AM I GOING TO DO on Facebook, youtube, and instagram. From Watermelon to Lemonade I hope y'all ready to get slayyyyyyyyyyyed.

OMG I am literally freaking out, what does this mean? Is this #B6?
I do recall seeing chatter of LEMONADE ON TWITTER.
And sometimes last year Beyonce posted a picture of her smelling a LEMON, she's always throwing hints that I tend to catch a little too late.

A Copy of this track list was floating around twitter and LEMONADE was on the list. I think we are onto something

Beyonce releases IVY PARK

     The wait is finally over and Beyonce has finally released to the world her athletic clothing line. Talks of Beyoncé releasing s a clothing line hit the scene October 2014 and 18 months later we finally have the finished product. Bey decided to name the athletic line IVY PARK. The average person might not know the significance behind IVY PARK, therefore I'll break it down for you. IVY is of course the middle name of Beyonce's 4 year old daughter "Blue Ivy Carter". Additionally 4 is Beyoncé 's favorite number. Her birthday is Sept 4, Jay Z's birthday is Dec 4, her mothers birthday is Jan 4, and her wedding anniversary is April 4. Additionally the title of Beyonce's 4th album is (4). The roman numeral sign for 4 is ( IV). The word PARK stems from the name of Beyonce's production company and record label which is entitled PARKWOOD. The name of the street that Beyoncé grew up on is called PARKWOOD and as a young/teenage girl she spent her time working out in the PARK ( named after the PARKWOOD area)

The PARK and the lessons that Beyoncé learned are embedded in her. She takes no lessons and applies them to her every day life. The PARK is a state of mind along with being an actual park ( PARKWOOD PARK )


I love how Beyoncé took something many of us would consider just an athletic line and turned it into something very personal. Check out some of the clothing from her line. I'm very satisfied with the product and will definitely be purchasing a few items and taking a trip to Parkwood Park when I visit Houston early May to see Beyoncé in concert.
