Maya Angelou passed away at the age of 86

I regret to inform you that the beloved Dr. Maya Angelou has passed away at the age of 86. She was an amazing woman and held many roles to include author, poet and civil right activist

Dr Angelou passed away Wednesday morning May 28, 2014 in her home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Angelou recently cancelled a scheduled appearance at the2014 MLB Beacon Award Luncheon, where she was to be honored with the Beacon of Life Award, due to health problems.

She was the GodMother of our community and we have truly lost a divine angel here on earth. I will miss seeing her uplifting posts on social media and I wish I would have gotten the opportunity to meet her.

For everyone who knows me ( especially those who knew me as a young girl ) would know that her poems "Phenomenal Woman" and "Still I Rise" -are my signature poems. Her books and poems have gotten me through some tough times and I thank her for that.

Although Dr Angelou is no longer here with us physically, she did leave behind a tremendous legacy. Even in this time of sadness, let's celebrate the greatness of all that she accomplished and left behind.

Her last tweet was on 24 May 2014 and can be seen below

Dr Marguerite Ann Johnson we love you and we salute you, may your beautiful soul rest in peace

Will and Jada are under investigation

Technology gives us so many advantages but along with all the positives comes the negatives

We live in an era where sharing pictures of the people you are with becomes a common thing to do.  To some people " such as myself" sharing those special moments become second nature. We sometimes share things that appear to be harmless, but to others it may come off as being inappropriate or negative. While the person posting the picture or video might not see the bad in the situation until things have completely hit the fan.

Recently a picture of Willow Smith " the daughter of Will Smith, and Jada Pinkett Smith" has been going around the internet. Depicted in the picture is 13 year old Willow lying in the bed with 20 year old actor Moises Arias who happens to be shirtless. Overall this picture stirred up some noise in the internet world.

Jada was questioned recently about the photo and responded with " There was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation. You guys are projecting your trash onto it. You're acting like covert pedophiles and that's not cool"

Looks like this topic is not one to test Mrs. Jada on.

Because of the picture the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services opened an investigation last week, and have stated that Will and Jada have been extremely cooperative.

I really hope Will and Jada don't get into any trouble, if anything I know this whole ordeal is pissing them off. Simply because they are parents who like to have hands off and give their children free reign. I love the carefree spirit that Willow possesses,  I wish she could be free and be herself, but we live in a world where even if you have good intentions you are constantly judge. My question is if they would have take this exact same picture on the beach would it have caused this much uproar.

Beyonce and JayZ "On The Run Music Trailer "

Beyonce is infamous for dropping big hits as if her product is not about to turn the world upside down and inside out. In late April she announced the she would be going on a Summer tour throughout the United States and the tour would be a joint collaboration with her husband JayZ. The Summer tour is entitled "On The Run" and will be one of the  highlight of Summer 2014

Saturday night 17 May 2014 Bey released what looks to be a movie trailer entitled "RUN" which was inspired by her and JayZ's song On the Run and their upcoming summer tour. The trailer depicts a couple who are obviously madly in love with one another who appear to be involved in some underground illegal related buiness They then proceeds to rob a bank and go on the run. Two lovers living out some vague fantasy as they duck and dodge the law.

The trailor has an amazing cast to go along with the action packed thriller, check out the star studded cast below.

Sean Pennrun 6
Don Cheadle
 run 7
Jake Gyllenhaal
 run 4
Blake Lively
 run2
Guillermo Díazrun 5
Emmy Rossum
 run 3
Rashida Jones and Kidada Jones
 run 1

The trailer received many praises but of course there's always someone who has to try to dim the light when others are shining brightly. Some of the negative comments that I have observed are that the preview looks too violent, Beyonce can't act, and then the usual Bey and Jay are overrated.

Let me break a few things down for those who have someting negative to say. First off of course the trailer is going to be violent, the song and tour are called "On the Run" did you think they would be running through a field of flowers. Please think things through before you try to be the sour apple in the bunch. Im sure the people making these comments are the same people who watch violent movies such as Kill Bill, gladiator, and 300. Next lets talk about Beyonce's acting, honestly I dont see anything wrong with it, I mean she's not a Halle Berry or a Viola Davis, but she's pretty decent and can hold her on. Now I know I might be a bit biased because I'm a stan, but she honestly is not as bad as many people try to make her out to be. In order to have great music videos you also have to be a pretty decent actress, check her out in her newest music video Pretty Hurts she's convincing to me. Lastly lets discuss the fact that Jay and Bey are apparently overrated. Can someone please define what makes someone overrated. Just because they are two successful people who happen to appear in the media does not make them overrated that makes them relevant to everyone who tries to stay inside their buisness.

Can we just marvel at how fierce Beyonce make's floating in a pool of money appear. Its all about the BENJAMINS baby.

 run 8

Although the trailor seems as if it will be a hit the sad truth is that we might only get the trailer and nothing more. At the end of the video were the words COMING NEVER. So at this moment we can only take what we can get. Check out the music video below

Like Always Bey and Jay had the internet buzzing with the release of this trailer check out what the people are saying

Kerry Washinton gives birth to a baby girl

We were all ecstatic to find out that one of America's favorite actresses was pregnant a few months ago. She's the star of one of the biggest shows on television "SCANDAL" and within the African American community she is leading from the front. Now that awards season is now behind us, we have been seeing less and less of the infamous Kerry Washington.

A little over two weeks ago on April 21, 2014 Kerry Washington gave birth to a baby girl at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and named her Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha. Yes she had the baby AND NO ONE KNEW.

This isn't the first time Kerry has kept something a secret from us, last summer she secretly married her daughter's father Nnamdi Asomugha an NFL star.
Isabelle's middle name " AMARCHI" is African based and means " God's grace" along with her first name meaning devoted to God.
What a beautiful name, I love it. Well congratulations to Kerry and Nnamdi on the birth of their baby girl. Enjoy being a mother Kerry.
