Lauryn Hill is a FREE WOMAN

One of our favorite ladies of Hip Hop the honorary Ms. Lauryn Hill has been released from federal prison and she is is officially a free woman. As scheduled, Hill was released from the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut,  sometime Friday (Oct. 4), This information was obtain from information that was posted on the website of the Federal Bureau of Prisons. I had no clue that that website even existed.

Lauryn was serving time for failing to pay taxes, she was under the impression that she owed the government nothing. She failed to pay taxes upon income that she earned between the years of 2005-2007. She pled guilty and was sentenced to 3 months in federal prison. The government does not play about their money. I'm taking note and will definitely make sure I give them what I owe them once I reach a level of higher status.

Now that Lauryn is *FREE FROM THE MAN* she has released a new track called Consumerism and unfortunately I'm not feeling it, I wish she could go back to making awesome songs like those from her only solo album " MisEducation of Lauryn Hill. Check out the song below, leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Halle Berry gives birth to a baby boy

Halle Berry and her husband Olivier Martinez (the third one for those not keeping count) welcomed a baby boy into the world earlier this morning (October 6, 2013) at Cedar Sinai. She is currently 47 and definitely just informed the world THAT IT IS NEVER TO LATE to bring life into this world. Okay now that the announcement is out the way.

HOLD UP WAIT A MINUTE, where have I been, and why did I not know that Halle Berry was with child. Did she keep this to herself, I yelped (screamed) when i got the alert to my iphone that one of my favorite actresses had just pushed out child number 2. KUDOS Halle congratulations you got your baby boy. Halle also has a daughter name Nahla who is currently 5 *wow the years are flying by* I hope you are enjoying motherhood Halle, continue to be oh so fabulous.

ObamaCare vs. The Affordable Care Act

Currently The United States is facing a huge dilemma, and that issue has led to a GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN. We are now entering Day 3 of the government shut down and millions of federal employees are unable to work and earn a paycheck. We are currently at this point because Congress (the House of Representatives and the Senate) have both failed to agree and pass a federal spending plan that they both agree on. Therefore hard working citizens cannot get paid, the civilian instructors at the Academies are unable to teach, the sports at the Academies are no longer being funded which has led to meets and games being cancelled, along with training in the military coming to a halt. Congress will still get paid no matter how long it takes them to make a decision. The main reason Congress has failed to make a decision is because of the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" The House of Representatives (which is majority Republicans oppose the Act) while the Senate (which is mainly democratic approve of the Act).

If you did not know the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is also known as OBAMA CARE. The American people have been able to have an input on the situation that has arisen in our country. Many people have legitimate reasons to oppose the healthcare act, while some people just oppose it because it's Obama's biggest accomplishment while being in the WhiteHouse.

It's really sad that we live in a country where people do not like to think for themselves. Below you will find a video of American citizens being asked which Act do they like better OBAMACARE or the AFFORDABLE CARE ACT. These citizens show no knowledge of knowing that these two acts are the same and have the same policies and guidelines. This just goes to show it's not even the policy that people disagree with it's the fact that the democrats want to see all American citizens have a fighting chance at being able to obtain healthcare, therefore others will oppose it without valid reasoning

Rihanna releases " Pour It Up"

Rihanna has finally given us the music video to her hit sing POUR IT UP, and boy oh boy did she set that video on fire. The song Pour It Up has officially become a strip club anthem " hence" the words of the verse " Strip clubs and dollar bills still got my money" Rihanna has girls TWERKING ON WATER #NoBasicZone

The video features professional exotic dancers Nicole " The pole " Williams, Candace Cane, and Secret Moneii. Nicole is an absolute beast on the pole, I plan on taking her class when I visit Los Angeles again. Candace brings the sexy and leaves you wanting more. Secret Moneii has a derrière that leaves you speechless.  In the video Rihanna also holds her own against the professionals and bends it over and twerks a few times along with working the pole. Originally I honestly love the video and Rihanna. I secretly am a bad girl and Rihanna gives me that opportunity to let the wild side out. Check out the video for yourself below and prepare to have your world rocked. OH dear do not let me be near a pole and this song comes on.

Also check out the audition video
and the making of the video

Kelly Rowland's "Dirty Laundry" music video

That oh so emotional song finally has a video to it, and it brought tears to my eyes

The video begins with Kelly laying in a pool of water in a sadden state.
Then it moves to her sitting in a chair singing her heart out about the pains and struggles that she endured while being in the music industry.

She sings behind a pair of shades with tears streaming down her face
She takes the glasses off and her eyes are filled with tears

AT THIS MOMENT I REALIZED WHEN YOU ARE A SINGER, especially a female singer you have to be a pretty decent actress so that you can sell your video, and Kelly does a great job at letting her emotions show through in this video.
She's at a dinner wearing a white dress with a man he gets up pissed off and the look on her face is unbearable. In the process of getting up he knocks a glass of wine over and it spills onto Kelly's dress and the look on her face screams devastation. Check out the video below and prepare to have your emotions rocked.

EVA PIGFORD ANTM cycle 3 winner is entering the world of MOTHERHOOD

One of our favorite Top Models is pregnant. The one and only Eva (the Diva) Pigford from Cycle 3 of America’s Next Top Model (the winner of the season)  is pregnant.

Her and her boyfriend Kevin McCall are expecting their first child. Eva is gorgeous and her boyfriend is a hottie therefore this baby is destined to inherit some amazing genes. I wonder if it will be a little Diva an awesome little prince. Either way I know for sure Ms. Eva will make a fabulous mommy and I look forward to the news that she has brought life into this world

Along with EVA being pregnant her counterpart and the last model standing with her during the final of Cycle 3 Yaya Dacosta recently had a baby boy a few weeks ago. She named him Sankara. Yaya recently starred in the Lee Danie's movie THE BUTLER which was at number 1 for three weeks in a row.

Baggage Claim *MOVIE REVIEW*

On September 27, 2013 I went and saw the romantic comedy Baggage Claim, and honestly I really enjoyed it. The premiere weekend only put the movie in 4th with a profit of 9.3 million. The main character (Montana Moore) was played by Paula Patton and she did a great job at playing the role of a woman who was desperately looking for love. Robin Thicke sure is a lucky man. She's absolutely beautiful. You may remember Paula from the movies "Precious" and the Bride from "Jumping The Broom."

The film featured Derek Luke, Taye Diggs, Jill Scott, Boris KodJoe, Trey Songz, Adam Brody, Tia Mowry, Lauren London, Christina Millian, Lala Anthony, Jennifer, Lewis, Ricky Smiley, and DJimon Hounsou. Montana is single and feels as if she is running out of time, especially when it is announced that her younger sister is engaged. She finds herself in a dilemma where she has 30 days to find a mate. With the help of her best friend (Jill Scott) and her frequent flyers miles she coincidently bumps into her exes on flights and tries to see if she can rekindle anything with these males, but they all seem to have some kind of issues.

I would not be doing the movie any justice if I forgot to mention the performance of Jill Scott. This woman turned it up a notch and definitely played a role I never saw her play before. She has a theatre background which I recently found out about, so I can definitely foresee her on Broadway someday. Jill played the heck out of her role, she had me cracking up and saying OH NO SHE DIDNT. You guys are going to love her.

Over all I could so relate to Montana so very much, it was actually quite strange how much we had in common with one another. I current walk in her shoes besides the fact that she's a flight attendant and I'm a soldier, those are the only difference. We both are looking for love and it seems like we are looking in all the wrong places. I'm thinking that special someone might be right in my face. I highly recommend that you go out and see this movie, if not for the laugh DO IT TO SUPPORT THE BLACK COMMUNITY, the black acting community. Hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did.

If We Had Your Eyes ( new single ) Michelle Wililams

We never really here much from the sultry third member of the group Destiny's Child. Michelle Williams " birth name" Tenitra Michelle Williams is set to release her fourth album soon which will be entitled " Journey To Freedom" She recently released the single If We Had Your Eyes, which gives off a gospel and R&B vibe.

Now that the single has been released, Michelle has moved on to bigger and better things and has released her video to that single, and I love it.

Michelle Williams's song " If We Had Your Eyes" is strong and has a powerful meaning and to go along with that powerful song is a powerful video.

On a daily basis we prejudge one another all the time " In the video Michelle sends a message through the use of different characters and old an Destiny's Child member Letoya Luckett even plays a small role in the video. This track is sampled from Lenny Williams and produced by Harmony Samuels.
The video ends with her wearing a hoodie. Hmmm does that remind you of something that recently shook our nation. Yes she's embodying the hoodie that Trayvon Martin was wearing the night he was murdered by George Zimmerman. Because YES TRAYVON WAS MISJUDGE.  By doing this Michelle is simply saying DO NOT PASS JUDGEMENT think about things through God's eyes. Great video and what an amazing song Michelle thanks for giving it to us

KUDOS MILEY CYRUS

Honestly I think everyone who is bashing and down talking  Miley Cyrus's MTV VMAs  performance are being over the top and dramatic. Gosh let her live and do what she want. Disney is in her past and she does not have to be the perfect role model if she does not want to.

I do not think there was anything wrong with the Miley Cyrus performance. Honestly we have seen performances that were way more raunchier than what Miley did. I mean I saw this coming and you all should have seen it coming also. Have you not see Miley's video for "CANT STOP" she's acting a fool in her video, therefore I would expect her to act outrageous in a live performance of "Cant Stop" And although much of America thought Miley's performance was horrible SHE'S BEING CAREFREE and having fun. That's what life is all about these days we are carefree and we do what we want. As long as no one is not being harm I don/t see anything wrong with what people do.

Okay lets talk about the way Miley was dancing on Robin Thicke. He knew what was up once she stepped out of that bear on stage. He posted himself up being Miley Cyrus so she could dance on him.  Everyone knew coming into the VMAs Sunday night that Miley Cyrus was going to do some type of twerking. The video for Robin Thick's song "Blurred Lines" is a bit on the sexy side, there are females walking around NAKED in his song. Therefore Miley parading around the stage half naked also was not an issue with me. I was not shocked by this>>>> check Robin's video below.

AMERICA needs to realize that Miley Cyrus is a GROWN WOMAN she can do whatever she wants. She is 20 and no longer a teenager therefore she's responsible for her own decisions and whatever image she portrays. I wish some American's would stop acting like they live the perfect life and stop passing judgment upon Miley. I'm sure she doesn't care one bit anyways. KUDOS to you Miley for being the talk of the night. You obviously did something right. Keep doing you and having fun. And I also as a black female do not feel as if Miley demoralize the image of the black woman. Some people need to chill out with the foolish talk

Lee Daniel's The Butler #MovieReview

Today (August 23, 2013) I went and saw Lee Daniel's newest movie THE BUTLER. Okay before someone passes judgment upon me let me give you gals and guys my excuse for being an entire week late. I know the movie premiered August 16, 2013 but I could not go see the movie and support premiere weekend due to the fact that I was in the field doing Army training which consisted of me not going home at night and sleeping on a cot in a tent.

I went and saw the Butler at noon today and I went in thinking the theatre was going to be empty but I walked in and it was filled with elderly people . Hmmmm so that's what the old people do during the week day on a friday *I'm joking*

I enjoyed the movie, simply because it tells our history. The history of America that is not so great. The history that some people like to pretend does not exist. The history that made us who we are today. The history that still effects living people today.

The Black Domestic worker plays a vital role in American history. The Butler to me is what THE HELP was to women. It showed black men and women serving white people and the struggles our people endured while they were servants. The Butler and the maid go hand in hand and Lee Daniels was able to portray how they are similar. As a domestic worker you had to look those who you were serving in the eye to see what they wanted and needed. You were there to please and to satisfy those you were working for.

The Butler had me in tears from the beginning of 1926 to the end in 2008 . Seeing Cecil Gaine's father gunned down in the cotton field broke my heart. No one should see their parents killed especially as a young child. I enjoyed and hated seeing how my people fought and struggled so I can have the rights that I have today. The movie was definitely informative and much can be learned from it. This movie was filled with RAW emotions that I felt reaching out at me through the theatre screen. Seeing Oprah interact with Forest Whitaker was interesting and it showed the ups and downs that are endured within a relationship. It DEFINITELY was weird seeing Terrence Howard all over OPRAH. I literally wanted to cover my eyes on that part. But Terrence is in his 40s and Oprah is pushing 60 so I guess isn't too bad.

Seeing the growth and journey of Cecil's son Louis shows us how the Black Community changed with each decade. From fighting for equal rights, to the right to vote, to the Black panther movement, to the movement in South Africa with Mandela. We got to see just how much America changed throughout the years.  Also One of my favorite models from cycle 3 of America's Next Top Model Yaya Dacosta played the female friend of Louis and she did a great job, and as you can see Ms. Yaya is with child. Congrats girl.

The end of the movie showed the election of Barack Obama and my sensitive self actually cried once again as if it was November 4, 2008 all over again. I wish President Obama would have been in the movie to actually greet Cecil at the end.

Overall I HIGHLY recommend that everyone go and see this movie you might learn a thing or two from it. I foresee Academy Award (Oscar) nominations. Kudos to the cast and director.
