One of my favorite celebrity moms of all times would have to be the fabulous Tina Knowles ( who recently got married last month (April 2015) so let me make that Tina Knowles Lawson. She is one of my favorite celebrity moms for obvious reasons.
1. First of all she gave birth to Queen Bey, the fabulous Beyonce Giselle Knowles Carter
2. She's an awesome fashion designer
3. She's 61 but looks to be in her late 30s ( geez Louise )
Tina was recently asked by Time magazine to write a letter to her daughters in honor of Mother's Day and boy oh boy did it bring me to tears. Especially the part about Beyonce. As you all know Tina has 2 daughters Bey and Solange, but what some of you do not know is that she has two additional daughters Kellendria "Kelly" Rowland and her biological neice Angela Beyince.
Kelly was not just a member of Destiny's Child, she was (and still is ) Beyonce's sister. She came to live with the Knowles family at the ripe age of 11 and was loved ever since. It's really awesome to see Mama Tina sharing her love for her daughters with the world. Check out her beautiful words below and let me know what you think.

“You Have Been Such a Blessing to Me”
By Tina Knowles Lawson
Cliff Watts
To Beyoncé, Solange, Kelly and Angie
When I was asked to write an open letter to you, I thought about the hundreds of texts and emails that I have sent to you on holidays and on Sundays, when I ask you to say a prayer to thank God for each other. Every day, I wake up thinking about how much I love, admire and cherish each of you.
I gave birth to two of you, but I have four incredible daughters. Writing this brought to mind all the ways you guys have been such a blessing to me.
When I’m feeling sad or not-so-cute or maybe a little sorry for myself, and you all include me in your group chat and tell me how hot I still look or how cool I am. Maybe you send me a crazy YouTube video. What actually works best is a cute photo of my grandchildren.
I remember slumber parties after my divorce, when we watched old movies and ate a lot of ice cream. I felt so loved and supported. The roles were reversed, and it was ME who needed nurturing.
I remember my first date when every one of you weighed in on what I should wear.
The obvious things about all of you are apparent. You are all strong, beautiful, intelligent and smart businesswomen. You are so much more than that. You are all kind, generous and you treat people well. You are all amazing mothers, wives, daughters, sisters and friends. All of you have total self-respect.
Beyoncé, I wish people could see how you are when you’re not in front of the camera or on the stage. How compassionate and kind you are to people, how you look them right in the eye when you speak to them. How hard you work, how generous you are with your time and money. How you don’t care if anyone knows about it because you do it from the heart. I wish they could see you with the Make-A-Wish Foundation kids, how patient you are and how your love has helped to extend lives. Yes, you are a huge star, but you have somehow managed to stay grounded and humble in the wake of all your success.
Solange, I knew when you were born three days late that you would walk to the beat of your own drum. You were always my rebel warrior! Always defending the underdog and fighting for what you believe in. I remember you, at 10 years old, started a petition to remove a bad teacher, and your dad and I were so proud of you. I love that you do not let others define who you are, or what you are. Whether in your music, fashion or your life, you truly are your own incredible, unapologetic person! As tough as you are, you will drop everything to take care of someone you love.
Kelly, I know without a doubt that you were a true gift from God. You came to live with us when you were only 11 years old. You were the sweetest, most kind person I had ever met and you still are. You are also a true survivor. You never give up. Your discipline and drive always inspires me. You make me want to take better care of my body and constantly motivate me to exercise and take time for myself. You have the best listening skills and are a loyal friend to many. I’ve seen you take the jewelry off of your arm and give it to someone because you wanted to make them feel good.
Angie, you are my niece, but we have always been more like mother and daughter! You were always so mature, always challenging me and questioning why. (Fortunately I never believed in the “Because I said so” or “I’m the adult” crap, either.) I always trusted that you would look out for and protect Solange, Kelly and Beyoncé, and you did! You still do sometimes. You are so smart and perceptive, and you see through bullshit right away! You’ve always had our backs. Our own family fixer!! You know I call you Olivia Pope!!!!!
I’m often asked, what was my most proud moment? I would have to say it was at my recent wedding, when all four of you said in your own words that I taught by example and that I helped to make you the women you are today!!!! That was truly my proudest moment!
All my love,
Mom

What did you think, how does this make you feel. Me personally I adored it and I loved how Mama Tina explained each one of her girls. Of course being the fanatic fan that I am I already knew the real Beyonce was humble and not a diva. We also knew that Solange is the feisty one and never backs down. Overall I enjoyed her letter it was heart warming. Let me know what you think in the comments.
It's a BOY It's a BOY, but of course we all knew that. One of my favorite ladies has given birth and I'm in love with her baby's name
Congratulations to Kelendria Rowland and Tim Weatherspoon on the birth of their first child together. "Titan Jewell Weatherspoon" was born on November 4, 2014 at 1:30PT weighing in at 7.5lbs Kelly released an official statement saying
"We are thrilled to announce that today we are the proud parents of our first son, We are blessed to report everyone is healthy and happy!"
Bringing life into this world is such a magical moment. I know Kelly and Tim will be great parents to their new baby boy. I look forward to seeing their bundle of joy. Enjoy motherhood Kelly, you are going to be a fierce and fabulous mommy.
Check out what Solange and Beyonce Knowles had to say about Kelly becoming a mommy
#Emoasever Hard to believe as the baby, I was the momma of the family in this photo. I've now watched both of my incredible sisters give the gift of life in such magnificent, powerful, graceful, strides. I couldn't be more moved today as I think about the power of sisterhood, kinship, and womanhood. The greatest crown to wear. The strongest bond, unbreakable. Strength, endless. Love, at the root of it all.
Throughout my time on social media I have seen challenges come and go. Some of the challenges I have participated in and some I have chosen not to. One of the few I have participated in was the Cinnamon challenge during my collegiate days while at West Point, see the video below at the bottom of the blog. I haven't seen the Gospel Challenge until I was officially tag and challenged. Unlike other challenges before this one, I did not have to think twice about whether or not I was going to participate. I'm in the choir at church ( when I'm in town and have time to make practice). What self respecting Christian would turn down this challenge. If you can hum you can sing a simple hymn. Now if you sound like JJ Fish when you sing I suggest that you stay quiet and not participate in this challenge. Spare us and yourself from being miserable. Anyways, I debated on what Gospel song to sing. I wanted to do a song that my vocals could handle and not pick a song that was totally out of my range. One of my friends suggested I do Say Yes since it was my favorite Gospel song at the moment and so I thought to myself " WHY NOT" and thats how choosing that song came about. Check me out doing the Gospel challenge. I had a great time making the video. My vocals are not the greatest but I had fun singing praises until the lord. Are you up to the Challenge? It is your opportunity to not only participate in a fun cause but to give praise to our savior.
Who remembers the Cinnamon Challenge. Actually make that the Crazy Cinnamon Challenge, I got some good laughs from that challenge and actually did it myself check out the video below.
It's always great to see the ladies of Destiny's Child reunited on the Big Screen. A few weeks ago Michelle Williams released the Say Yes single and I have been anticipating the release of her music video since originally hearing the song . I will be honest and admit that the only reason I was excited to see the video was because I felt like this song gave me that mini Destiny's Child reunion that I have been craving to see and experience.
Michelle is still strictly a Gospel singer outside of her DC3 shenanigans, while Beyonce and Kelly both switch it up from time to time. All the ladies started singing in the church, just like many black female musicians" therefore it is not strange to see Kelly and Beyonce willingly switching back to the gospel side with such ease.
I personally love how Beyonce can sing about being on her knees in a limo in her song "Partition" and Kelly can sing about liking her "Kisses Down Low" and then they switch it up and contribute to Michelle's gospel single. Now that is what you call being diverse with your music. And before anyone brings out the negativity in this just know that Beyonce and Kelly are both married women and can technically do whatever they want along with singing about it. Also Michelle and the ladies of DC3 are business savvy individuals and know how much of a plus it would be to contribute to Michelle's newest single. It's nice to see the ladies come together and help one another out.
Say Yes has a very upbeat tempo and a catchy tune so from the beginning Michelle was winning with this song. The director of the video Michael A. Cherry was able to capture a unique perspective of the video. The visuals in the video are colorful and give off an African/Caribbean vibe. We also get a pleasant surprise of seeing Michelle do a little 2 step. The ladies sing about not having to worry about a thing and putting it all in God's hands. We typically live stressful lives on a daily basis and being able to just give it all to God/Jesus at the end of the day is our way of letting the lord have his way with was was already meant to be.
Kudos to you Michelle on the release of your new single and video I look forward to purchasing your album in September. Keep switching it up singing praises unto the creator above.
Check out the music video below
It is really great to see gospel singers step outside the box and add a little twist to their genre of music. It doesn't hurt to leave the tradition ways behind sometimes.
Leave A Comment and let me know what you think about the song, the video and the participation of Beyonce and Kelly on a gospel track
The second lead vocalist of Destiny's Child is pregnant. I literally screamed ( while still at work ) when I found out that Kelly Rowland was pregnant. Finding out the good news immediately made me smile and then proceed to sing her song " Kisses Down Low". I can't even explain why out of all her songs that one in particular popped in my head.
Kelly officially announced her exciting news today via Instagram by posting this picture with the caption, I'll be stunting like my daddy.
She shared a picture of baby jordans lined up next to a regular adult pair which was our obvious clue that she was trying to tell us something special.
Last month Kelly married her manager Tim Witherspoon in Costa Rica, looks like the couple will be adding a new member sooner than expected.
This is exciting news for the RowlandStones ( that's Kelly's fan base for all who doesn't know ) and you know the #Beyhive is excited to hear about our sister being a future mommy. Congratulations Kelly I know you are going to be a Fierce and Fabulous mommy and I look forward to seeing pictures of you with your adorable baby bump, you officially do not have to hide it anymore.
Age aint nothing but a number, especially in the case of Beyonce's mother TINA BEYINCE KNOWLES government name CELESTINE ANN BEYINCE "59" . In 2011 Beyonce's parents Matthew and Tina Knowles decided to split after 31 years of marriage. I personally hate seeing that happen. Those two definitely contributed to the success level of their daughter. Matthew gave her the guidance she needed while Tina kept Beyonce and the ladies of Destiny's Child looking fly.
But it looks like mama Tina has moved on to bigger and better things. Recently Tina was spotted out with a man at Gabrielle's Angel Foundation 2013 Angel Ball, on October 29, 2013. The proceeds from the ball went to cancer research. This mystery man she was spotted with turned out to be someone we were familiar with. She was seen on the scene with actor Richard Lawson "66". I wonder what is up with these two, I guess only time will tell. Check out photos of the two from the Angel Ball below.
That oh so emotional song finally has a video to it, and it brought tears to my eyes
The video begins with Kelly laying in a pool of water in a sadden state.
Then it moves to her sitting in a chair singing her heart out about the pains and struggles that she endured while being in the music industry.
She sings behind a pair of shades with tears streaming down her face
She takes the glasses off and her eyes are filled with tears
AT THIS MOMENT I REALIZED WHEN YOU ARE A SINGER, especially a female singer you have to be a pretty decent actress so that you can sell your video, and Kelly does a great job at letting her emotions show through in this video.
She's at a dinner wearing a white dress with a man he gets up pissed off and the look on her face is unbearable. In the process of getting up he knocks a glass of wine over and it spills onto Kelly's dress and the look on her face screams devastation. Check out the video below and prepare to have your emotions rocked.
